Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a call with my Norwegian friend and colleague, Minister Espen Barth Eide, to discuss Russia's escalating attacks on civilian shipping in the Black Sea and our joint efforts to protect freedom of navigation and global food security.

Russia is deliberately putting at risk the safety of commercial routes and food supplies for millions of people worldwide. This threat requires a strong and coordinated international response.

We focused on stronger defense cooperation and additional support to protect Ukrainian skies. Closing the gaps in our air defense remains one of the most urgent tasks.

I also thanked Norway for its valuable support for Ukraine’s engagement with partners across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and other regions of the world.

Norway’s support for Ukraine is steadfast, comprehensive, and deeply valued. We are grateful for its leadership, solidarity, and readiness to act wherever stronger support for Ukraine is needed".
