Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I spoke with Radosław Sikorski following the incursion of a Russian missile into Poland.
I commended the Polish government’s response and reassured Radek of Ukraine’s full solidarity with Poland. We are ready to provide all the necessary assistance in investigating the incident.
We agreed that strengthening Ukraine’s air shield should be an urgent priority for the entire Euro-Atlantic community.
I also suggested to resume talks with other allies on all possible ways to protect Ukraine’s airspace with the involvement of partners. We are talking not about charity, but about pragmatic solutions to improve our shared security.
I believe that today’s missile incursion also serves as a stark reminder of the horrific reality facing both our countries: it is time to focus on countering acute threats in the present rather than divisive debates about the past.
We noted the positive outcomes of yesterday’s meeting between President Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Tusk and spoke about the implementation of their agreements.
I informed Radek about the outcomes of the President’s visits to the UK and the USA.
Ukraine is grateful to Poland for its leadership in Europe and strength in protecting our shared principles."
