Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly in New York.

I briefed my colleague on the latest battlefield developments and Ukraine’s efforts to advance a comprehensive and lasting peace. Ukraine remains committed to diplomacy and to ending this war.

We paid particular attention to the situation in the Black Sea. Russia’s continued attacks and attempts to disrupt maritime routes pose a direct threat to freedom of navigation and global food security. Restoring safe and unimpeded navigation is important far beyond our region.

We also discussed ways to further develop Ukraine-Brazil relations, deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and strengthen our political and economic ties.

I appreciate Brazil’s engagement and our continued dialogue. We count on Brazil’s voice in advancing peace based on the UN Charter and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity".
