Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "While taking part in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s official visit to Poland, I had another insightful meeting with my colleague and friend Radosław Sikorski, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
I underscored Poland’s exceptional leadership role in strengthening Europe and rallying support for Ukraine. Thank you for standing with us as a true friend and ally.
We discussed the European Council’s decision on the financial support for Ukraine in 2026-2027. Such strong decisions keep Europe united and determined to bring back peace to the continent.
I informed my Polish colleague about the recent peace talks with American partners. Ukraine relies on Poland’s active role in peace efforts and security guarantees. Discussions on the future of European security architecture must involve Poland as its integral part.
I also briefed Radosław Sikorski about the battlefield situation, the daily mil-tech race and Ukraine’s most urgent defense needs. Poland’s military assistance to Ukraine remains crucial, and we highlighted the role of the Rzeszów–Jasionka logistics hub, as well as ongoing training and cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish forces.
The development of joint defense projects under the SAFE program and broader Ukraine-Poland defense cooperation was also part of our discussion. I thanked for the Polish contribution to the PURL initiative and Radek’s personal role in this regard.
EU accession was another key topic: we noted Ukraine’s progress and stressed the importance of Ukraine and Moldova moving forward together on this path.
Finally, we covered the URC-2026, welcoming Poland’s readiness to host the Conference next year in one of its beautiful cities. I am confident that the event will be a shared success.
Thank you, Radek, for our meaningful conversation. Thank you, Warsaw, for the warm welcome. Thank you, Poland, for your unwavering support of a free and independent Ukraine.
The Ukrainian-Polish good-neighbourly partnership is vital for European security and prosperity."
