On May 6, Infantry Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, together with Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin, opened an exhibition of advanced Ukrainian-made weapons, drones, and military equipment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The event was also attended by Strategic Advisor to the President of Ukraine, Alexander Kamyshin and Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Pavlo Palisa.
The exhibition is located in the main hall of the MFA, through which foreign ministers and delegations pass when visiting Ukraine’s diplomatic headquarters. As such, it offers international guests a visual testimony to the strength of the Ukrainian state at the very start of their official visit.
Presenting the project, Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized the historic mission currently fulfilled by Ukraine’s defence-industrial complex:
“At a time when the country is fighting for its survival, our defence industry meets more than 40% of the needs of the Defence Forces of Ukraine in weapons and military equipment. This is not just a statistic — it is the result of the tireless daily work of Ukrainian engineers, manufacturers, and workers who operate in conditions where every hour counts,” said the Minister.
For his part, Minister Smetanin noted:
“In our international engagements, we constantly encourage our partners to finance arms production in Ukraine. That’s why it is crucial to show them what our defence sector is capable of. This exhibition brings together products that demonstrate the ingenuity and capability of Ukrainian weapons developers from both state-owned and private enterprises, showcasing the rapid growth of Ukraine’s defence industry, especially in the field of defence tech.”
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ukrainian diplomacy systematically supports Ukrainian defence manufacturers on the international stage and actively works to advance the interests of the Ukrainian defence industry:
“We engage foreign governmental and private institutions in cooperation with Ukrainian manufacturers, build channels of communication, open new markets, and promote the Ukrainian defence sector as an integral part of the global security architecture,” emphasised Minister Andrii Sybiha.
He added that the exhibition stands as evidence of Ukraine’s growing strength — a strength forged through the unity of the state, the military, the industrial sector, and international partners:
“I am firmly convinced that the future of Ukraine is being built right here — in the workshops, on the test ranges, in the design offices, and at the negotiating tables with our allies,” the Minister stated.
He also underscored that those working in the defence sector are producing solutions of strategic importance not only for Ukraine, but for the whole of Europe. The Minister expressed sincere gratitude to every Ukrainian defence manufacturer, every defence industry worker, and every partner for their dedication, determination, and concrete contributions.
