Ukraine welcomes the normalization of relations between the State of Israel and the United Arab Emirates as a historic event for the entire region and the international community.

We are pleased to note the practical implementation of the agreements reached between the two countries on August 13 this year. Yesterday, August 31, 2020, the first direct flight on the route Tel Aviv - Abu Dhabi took place, which marks the normalization of relations between the two countries, which have chosen the path of mutually beneficial cooperation.

We hope that the rapprochement of the two countries will contribute to a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East, and would serve as a success story that will inspire other countries to follow suit.

Ukraine is paying a high price for restoring peace and bringing back the feeling of safety to the inhabitants of the occupied territories who are suffering from Russian aggression.

The example of a peaceful settlement between Israel and the UAE demonstrates the possibility of making progress even in the most difficult cases of long-lasting conflicts.
