On November 20, 2023, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Bankov held a meeting with the Japanese delegation headed by State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Tsuji Kiyoto and State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Iwata Kazuchika.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for deepening of cooperation between Ukraine and Japan. The main attention was paid to the participation of the Japanese companies in projects of rebuilding in Ukraine and, in particular, to the preparation for the Conference for Reconstruction of Ukraine in Tokyo, scheduled for the beginning of next year.
State Secretary Oleksandr Bankov thanked Japan for its consistent position in supporting Ukraine, in particular in the context of Japan’s successful presidency at the Group of Seven, as well as for the financial and humanitarian assistance provided.
The parties underlined that the visit of the Japanese delegation, which also included representatives of the leading Japanese companies, is not only evidence of active bilateral cooperation between the governments of Ukraine and Japan, but it will also contribute to the better involvement of the Japanese companies to the rebuilding processes in Ukraine.
