On 18 November 2020, Deputy Foreign Minister (CDTO) Dmytro Senik took part in the online briefing entitled «Economic Potential of Ukraine-Kuwait Cooperation», organized for Ukrainian food export companies from Kirovohrad region by the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Kuwait and the Council of Exporters and Investors under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The participants were briefed about economic potential of Kuwait, learned about legal and technical aspects of food imports to this country. They also received practical advice from the Ukrainian embassy on finding customers and also a list of potential importers of their products in Kuwait.

While addressing Ukrainian exporters, the Deputy Minister noted that Kuwait purchases a vast majority of products abroad, it has fairly low customs duties on imports, and its imports amount is impressive - $35.059 billion in 2019.

"Ukraine's exports to Kuwait in 2019 amounted only to $34.69 million, but it shows a rapid growth trend - it almost doubles annually. This growth is mainly due to the expansion of our product range. Ukrainian manufacturers have great opportunities in this market’’, said Dmytro Senik.

The Ukrainian diplomat also stressed that during COVID-19 pandemic, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry intensifies cooperation with domestic business at both national and regional levels. "In fact, every week, usually even several times a week, the Foreign Ministry, the Council of Exporters and Investors under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and our embassies abroad organize online conferences for Ukrainian exporters, providing unique information about foreign markets," said the Deputy Minister.
