On March 19, 2021 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (CDTO) Dmytro Senik received Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Ukraine Rashed Al-Adwani.

Dmytro Senik emphasized the importance of deepening the bilateral political dialogue between Ukraine and the State of Kuwait at the top and high levels and confirmed readiness to hold the next round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the State of Kuwait.

The Parties confirmed the mutual interest of the two countries in the further development of trade and investment cooperation. “Ukraine is ready to contribute to ensuring the food security of the State of Kuwait by expanding the supply of high quality agricultural and food products to the Kuwaiti market”, stated Dmytro Senik.

The Sides shared the understanding that intensifying business and tourist contacts between the two countries could be expedited through launching a direct air connection between Ukraine and the State of Kuwait.

For reference: The last round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the State of Kuwait was hosted by the State of Kuwait in February 2018.

The fourth session of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Kuwaiti Commission on Economic, Technical and Trade Cooperation took place in November 2018 in the State of Kuwait.

Since August 1, 2020 Ukraine introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of the State of Kuwait for the period of stay in Ukraine not exceeding 90 days within 180 days.

Ukrainians enjoy obtaining entry visas at the airport upon arrival to the State of Kuwait. The cost of the visa is USD 10.

The total volume of trade in goods and services between Ukraine and the State of Kuwait in 2020 amounted to USD 37.06 million. In particular, exports of goods – USD 34,9 million, imports – USD 0.79 million. The balance of trade in goods was positive for Ukraine - USD 35,48 million. The share of agricultural products in total bilateral exports in 2020 was 80.4%.
