On August 09, 2023, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova held a meeting with Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toily Ataev.

The interlocutors discussed in detail the steps to intensify relations between Ukraine and Turkmenistan in economical, logistical, educational and humanitarian spheres, revised drafts of bilateral agreements that are being worked out by the parties.

The Ukrainian party expressed gratitude for providing several packages of Turkmen humanitarian aid for the needs of Ukrainian people.

The First Deputy Minister emphasized on the fact that the launch of missiles by Russia against the civilian infrastructure facilities of Ukrainian cities from the Caspian Region grossly violates the provisions of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.

Emine Dzhaparova paid special attention to the issue of increasing the share of Ukrainian exports in growing turnover between the countries.

Ukraine has unique opportunities to improve Turkmenistan’s food security and is counting on the participation of the Turkmen side in the implementation of the “Grain From Ukraine” program of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Meanwhile, entry of Turkmenistan into TRACECA will provide new possibilities for supplying crucial Turkmen imports to Ukraine.
