On February 28, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova held a meeting with the delegation of Foreign Office of the United Kingdom, led by the Permanent Under-Secretary of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Sir Philip Barton.
«Ukraine needs a sufficient amount of weapons to win the war, to restore security in Europe and prevent Russian aggression from spreading to other independent states», - the First Deputy Minister stressed.
The parties discussed in detail further steps for the implementation of the Peace Formula initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to the Government of the United Kingdom for joint work on the creation of a Special Tribunal to prosecute the political and military leadership of Russia for committing the crime of aggression.
Emine Dzhaparova informed the interlocutors about the deterioration of the human rights situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea and the work of the International Crimea Platform.
«It is important for us that the liberation of Crimea becomes an integral part of our victory. Because it is not only about the peninsula, but about the restoration of justice and respect for international law», - emphasized the First Deputy Minister.
The parties also exchanged views on the importance of deepening cooperation with the countries of the Global South, primarily in the area of strategic communications and countering Russian propaganda.
