On December 6, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova and Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych met with the G7 Ambassadors and the leadership Delegation of the EU to Ukraine at the Office of the Crimea Platform.
The meeting was devoted to developing the common understanding on the activities of the International Crimean Platform and informing partners about Ukraine's measures at the national level aimed at maintaining ties with the population of the temporarily occupied territory, as well as protecting the rights of victims of Russian aggression.
Emine Dzhaparova thanked the partners for their political and practical support of the Crimea Platform and the preparation of key events in the framework of this international format.
She presented Ukraine's proposals for specific measures within the priority areas of the Crimea Platform: non-recognition policy, sanctions, security, human rights and international humanitarian law, economic and environmental consequences of the occupation.
The First Deputy Minister informed foreign diplomats about the development of the Expert Network of the Crimean Platform and the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at establishing coordination between Platform’s governmental and expert dimensions. She stressed the importance of donor support for the activities of the Expert Network.
Anton Korynevych informed about the priorities of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea as a body that coordinates the tasks of de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea at the national level. He informed about legislative initiatives, measures to ensure the rights and needs of the population of Crimea, in particular in educational, medical and cultural spheres, protection of the religious community of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Crimea.
Emine Dzhaparova and Anton Korynevych paid special attention to the steps aimed at maintaining and preserving the Crimean Tatar identity.
Foreign diplomats expressed support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and independence within internationally recognized borders, in particular in the context of Russia's military build-up around Ukraine.
The partners furthermore expressed support for the activities of the Crimea Platform in priority areas, in particular, non-recognition policy, and noted that they will continue to pay attention to the cases of human rights violations in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The participants also exchanged views on enlargement of the Crimea Platform.
