On 10 May, Deputy Foreign Minister Iryna Borovets held an online meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister and Foreign Trade of Belize Amalia Mai.

Iryna Borovets expressed her gratitude to the Belizean side for its consistent support of Ukraine within the UN and other international organisations.

The Deputy Minister expressed hope for the personal participation of the Prime Minister of Belize in the First Inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland, to which an invitation has already been extended to the Belizean side. She also noted the importance of Belize's support for President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula.

Iryna Borovets renewed the invitation to pay a visit to Ukraine of the top leadership of Belize.

Amalia Mai affirmed Belize's commitment to support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and readiness to back Ukraine's initiatives in the UN and other international and regional organizations.

The parties discussed ways to intensify political dialogue between the two countries and the conduct of high-level bilateral contacts in the near future.

This year, Ukraine and Belize celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
