On May 27, Deputy Foreign Minister Iryna Borovets held a phone call with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Mexico, María Teresa Mercado Pérez. They discussed current issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Mexico.
Iryna Borovets expressed her gratitude to the Mexican side for its consistent support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations. She also emphasized the importance of Mexico's continued support in international forums regarding the condemnation of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
Irina Borovets informed her counterpart about the current situation in Ukraine, particularly the daily horrific shelling of peaceful Ukrainian cities, including Kharkiv.
Irina Borovets emphasized that Ukraine considers Mexico's participation in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland to be of great importance and called for more active involvement of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi Peace Formula, in particular through participation in working groups for the implementation of the Peace Formula, and also invited to become a member of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
Maria Teresa Mercado Perez assured the unwavering support of Mexico for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as Mexico's readiness to assist in the implementation of Ukraine's initiatives in the UN, and other international, and regional organizations.
The parties discussed ways to intensify the political dialogue between the two countries and to conduct high-level bilateral contacts in the near future.
