During a meeting with Head of UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Danielle Bell, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Iryna Borovets thanked her for clear position on Russian aggression and praised the Mission for building an evidence base on the devastating consequences of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine.
The Deputy Minister informed Danielle Bell about the facts of systemic egregious human rights violations by the Russian occupation forces, including murders, extrajudicial executions, sexual violence, torture, blocking of humanitarian corridors, forced transfer of Ukrainian citizens to the territory of the aggressor state, etc.
Iryna Borovets drew special attention to the situation with Ukrainian children abducted by Russia and emphasized the importance of consolidating the international community and coordinating efforts to return thousands of Ukrainian children abducted by the aggressor country.
The Deputy Minister also urged to continue to keep the monitoring of the human rights situation in Ukraine, especially on the temporarily occupied territories including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The parties discussed the potential of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine to collect and document evidence of crimes and human rights violations committed by Russian troops on the territories of our country.
