On February 1, Maksym Subkh, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa had a video call with Josefa Sacko, Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture of the African Union Commission.
The parties discussed ways to improve the level of food security on the African continent. The African Union Commission was invited to join the efforts to promote the Peace Formula aimed at restoring international stability and the Grain from Ukraine initiative, the goal of which is to significantly increase food supplies to the African and Asian countries as well as to alleviate the food crisis saving millions of lives from hunger.
Commissioner Josefa Sacko expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Ukraine for the decision to send Ukrainian wheat to a number of African countries. She expressed solidarity with the people of Ukraine and her hope for a prompt end of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
