On February 20, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh met with Yuliy Edelstein and Zeev Elkin, co-chairs of the Israel-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Knesset of the State of Israel.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the active dynamics of the political dialogue between Ukraine and Israel, including the recovery of its inter-parliamentary component after the full-scale Russian invasion. They also discussed future steps to maintain contact between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
Maksym Subkh thanked the Israeli side for the consistent political and diplomatic support of Ukraine on international platforms, as well as for the humanitarian assistance provided to our country both at the state level and by the Israeli society.
The parties noted the commonality and inseparability of challenges and threats faced by our countries in the security sphere and agreed on the need to use all available parliamentary levers to strengthen practical bilateral interaction.
The interlocutors paid particular attention to the issue of Israel's involvement in the implementation of the Peace Formula as the only comprehensive diplomatic tool for stopping Russian aggression and punishing those responsible for it.
Considering the aggravation of the security situation in the territories of Israel and Palestine, it was stated that Ukraine condemns manifestations of terrorism in any form and advocates the need for the peaceful coexistence of the Palestinian and Israeli peoples, the final settlement of the conflict based on the principle of two states that will coexist in peace and security.
