On 7 July, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a phone call with Adriana Mira, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of El Salvador.

The parties discussed current issues on the Ukraine–El Salvador agenda and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, including the expansion of the legal framework governing relations between the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to the security situation in Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing armed aggression. Mariana Betsa informed her counterpart about the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine and stressed the importance of continued international support for efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.

During the conversation, the two officials reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further developing direct dialogue at both high and highest levels.

The diplomats also exchanged views on cooperation within international organizations. In this context, Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister expressed hope for further deepening cooperation between the two countries in multilateral fora and invited El Salvador to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, emphasizing the importance of international solidarity in securing the return of Ukrainian children who have been illegally deported and forcibly transferred by Russia.

The parties agreed to maintain an active political dialogue and continue joint efforts to implement agreements aimed at strengthening Ukraine–El Salvador relations.
