On December 20, 2024 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held an online meeting with Secretary for Europe and North America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Ambassador Maria Luisa Escorel de Moraes.

The parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues of Ukraine-Brazil cooperation and the global agenda, in particular, deepening cooperation with the Latin American region, as well as high-level bilateral contacts in the near future.

In the context of discussing Russia's ongoing armed aggression against Ukraine, Mariana Betsa emphasized that the implementation of the Peace Formula is the only effective way to restore comprehensive, just and sustainable peace in Ukraine.

In addition, Mariana Betsa invited the Brazilian side to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. "Only through joint actions we will achieve the return of all Ukrainian children to their homeland, whom the aggressor country - Russia has kidnapped from the territory of Ukraine and is destroying their identity. The expansion of the coalition with new participants will contribute to effective actions to restore justice and bring the guilty to justice," the Deputy Minister noted.

Maria Luisa Escorel de Moraes confirmed Brazil's unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and also expressed the readiness of the Brazilian side to continue providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. She also thanked the Ukrainian side for joining the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, launched within the framework of the Brazilian presidency of the G20.
