On December 18, 2024 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a meeting with the newly appointed Special Representative of the OSCE Chairpersonship-in-Office – OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, Ambassador Petr Mareš.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the possibilities of engaging the OSCE to ensure the priority needs of the Government of Ukraine amidst the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation.
“Ukraine values the expertise and practical assistance provided by the OSCE and its participating States to our country by implementing the extrabudgetary projects addressing the consequences of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. To this end, it is crucial that OSCE’s projects contribute to the Peace Formula implementation as well as to the reform agenda within the EU accession process”, Mariana Betsa said.
In addition, the Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the issue of implementing projects aimed at helping Ukrainian children who continue suffering from Russia's aggressive war.
For his part, Ambassador Petr Mareš positively noted the continuation of the OSCE project activities in Ukraine and expressed hope for the effective provision of the OSCE assistance in meeting the priority needs of the Ukrainian side to overcome the consequences of the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine.
