On April 2, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a meeting with Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Ukraine Jarno Habicht.

Mariana Betsa expressed her gratitude to the WHO team for their daily work aimed at supporting the healthcare sector in Ukraine, which continues to suffer due to Russia's ongoing aggression against our country, and emphasized on the need to continue to make all possible efforts to restore and develop Ukrainian healthcare institutions, social protection and rehabilitation facilities, with special attention to the needs of veterans and affected civilians.

"Ukraine is especially grateful for the WHO's activities in the frontline areas of our country: equipment, medicines, and the expertise of WHO experts are exactly what helps our doctors to save the lives of Ukrainians every day", - Mariana Betsa said.

The counterparts also discussed further joint steps aimed at raising awareness among the global community about the damage caused to Ukraine's healthcare system by Russian aggression, including the modalities of holding a joint high-level event with the WHO in Kyiv soon.
