On 28 April, Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Betsa participated in the forum "From Diplomacy of Resistance to Diplomacy of Action," organized by the Foreign Policy Council "Ukrainian Prism" at the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the MFA.
On behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, the diplomat addressed the opening of the event and participated in a panel discussion dedicated to the update of the Foreign Policy Strategy of Ukraine.
"Today, Ukraine is already one of the centers of the security architecture. Ukrainian subjectness no longer requires proof. It is visible to everyone — both friends and foes: on the battlefield, at the negotiating table, in new defense agreements, and in strategic partnerships. By defending its own sovereignty from Russian aggression, Ukraine is laying the foundation for a new global security architecture. Ukraine is no longer a recipient, but a contributor to security," Mariana Betsa noted.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that for Ukraine, the development of a world of multilateral partnership is extremely important. And the construction of such a world is impossible without Ukraine.
In this regard, Mariana Betsa highlighted five fundamental elements:
During the panel discussion, Mariana Betsa noted that the RF invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 catalyzed global processes that completely changed the global security environment, the forms and logic of modern warfare, the principles of building and maintaining alliances, and the very tools and philosophy of diplomacy.
The MFA has already initiated the relevant work to update the Foreign Policy Strategy of Ukraine with the aim of bringing it into line with the realities of war and adapting it to our future EU membership.
During the forum, the presentation of the eleventh annual study "Ukrainian Prism: Foreign Policy 2025" — a comprehensive expert analysis of Ukraine's foreign policy over the past year — also took place.
The MFA of Ukraine is grateful to the experts of the Foreign Policy Council "Ukrainian Prism," particularly Hanna Shelest, for organizing the forum.
