On February 16, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine Valeriu Chiveri.
The parties discussed topical issues of relations between Ukraine and Moldova, regional security, schedule of next political contacts and confirmed the need to strengthen cooperation to counter common security challenges.
Mykola Tochytskyi thanked the Republic of Moldova for its support and solidarity with Ukraine against aggressive actions of the Russian Federation, and stressed the invariability of our state's position on supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders. He assured that Ukraine will continue to be an active participant in the “5+2” negotiating format in the Transnistrian settlement.
