October 7, 2023 was a tragic date when a horrific Hamas attack on Israel led to a massive escalation of violence and a protracted humanitarian crisis. Since then, the region has been experiencing unprecedented losses: thousands of people in Israel and the Gaza Strip lost their lives, others were forced to flee their homes and suffered untold suffering. Among the innocent victims of this war, unfortunately, are citizens of Ukraine.

The past two years have left a deep mark on the fate of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. At the same time, they have shown that addiction to war, terror, or violence cannot be allowed. The highest priority must be to end the suffering of civilians, return hostages to their families, and create conditions for lasting peace and stability.

Ukraine welcomes and supports diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war in the Gaza Strip, in particular the peace plan of US President Donald Trump, and hopes for its speedy implementation.
