On July 31, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko accepted copies of the credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Ukraine, Zlatin Krastev.

Olexandr Mischenko congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his diplomatic mission to Ukraine and expressed hope for further active bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Bulgaria. The Deputy Minister thanked the Bulgarian side for its consistent support of Ukraine`s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The parties discussed the state of bilateral relations and prospects for their further development in political, energy, trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres. The interlocutors paid special attention to the possibility of holding political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of both states in the Republic of Bulgaria in the near future.

The Deputy Minister noted the importance of the Republic of Bulgaria`s support for Ukraine`s European integration, as well as the continuation of cooperation in mutually beneficial areas, particularly in strengthening the security of the Black Sea region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the interlocutors reaffirmed their mutual commitment to the further intensification of bilateral contacts.
