On 26 March, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Ukraine (non-resident), Alan Deniega.
Olexandr Mischenko congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine and expressed hope for the further intensification of Ukrainian-Philippine relations. The Deputy Minister thanked the Philippine side for its consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations.
The Parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for their further development in the political, trade and economic, security, and humanitarian spheres. The interlocutors paid attention to the expansion of political dialogue, the development of interparliamentary cooperation, and the strengthening of cooperation in the field of food security.
The interlocutors also noted the importance of Ukraine’s engagement with ASEAN in the context of the Republic of the Philippines’ chairmanship in the organization in 2026. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further intensifying bilateral contacts.
