On January 23, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Ukrainian-Israeli relations in the context of the ongoing armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the difficult security situation in the Middle East, as well as topical issues of the bilateral and international agenda.

The parties positively noted the prospects for launching a Ukrainian-Israeli strategic dialogue on security issues in the near future.

Olexandr Mishchenko informed his interlocutor on the security situation in Ukraine, in particular, about Russia's systematic missile and drone attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure. In this context, the priority of attracting international assistance for the restoration, protection and modernization of the energy sector of Ukraine was emphasized. The Ukrainian side expressed hope for a practical contribution from Israel, taking into account its unique experience in the field of protection of critical infrastructure and energy sustainability.

The interlocutors also discussed the interaction between Ukraine and Israel within the framework of international organizations, primarily the United Nations.

The parties noted the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation, in particular the results of the 13th meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Israeli Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which took place in December 2025 in Jerusalem.

In the humanitarian dimension, the interlocutors positively noted the opening in Jerusalem of the first monument in Israel to the victims of the Holodomor of 1932–1933 and emphasized the importance of further contacts, in particular in the context of work on Israel's recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

During the meeting, diplomats also raised the issue of Israel's participation in the restoration of the deoccupied territories of Ukraine, as well as the protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens in the State of Israel.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their determination to further develop Ukrainian-Israeli relations and maintain regular dialogue
