Olexandr Mischenko paid a working visit to Poland

On December 11-14, 2024 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko paid a working visit to the Republic of Poland, where he held political and security consultations with Undersecretaries of state of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland Marek Prawda and Robert Kupeczky.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and the global agenda, noting the active Ukrainian-Polish political dialogue at the highest and high levels.

Throughout the consultations, particular attention was given to defence support for Ukraine, including the implementation of the bilateral security cooperation agreement, implementation of the Peace Formula and of the Victory Plan, further sanctions pressure on Russia, and the development of border infrastructure.

A special emphasis was placed on Poland's comprehensive support for Ukraine's path to EU and NATO membership. The Polish side also reaffirmed its readiness to continue to provide the full range of assistance necessary for strengthen Ukraine's resilience.

In the context of addressing issues of national memory, the parties welcomed the first meeting of the relevant Ukrainian-Polish Working Group under the auspices of the Ministries of Culture of the two countries.

During the meeting with Deputy Minister of National Education of Poland Joanna Mucha, Olexandr Mischenko expressed his gratitude for the creation of appropriate conditions for school education of more than 250 thousand children from Ukraine and readiness to finance the printing of Ukrainian language textbooks for children of Ukrainian national minorities in Poland.

During his visit to Poland, the Deputy Minister visited the newly built Nyzhankovychi-Malhowice crossing point, which is being prepared for opening in the near future. He also met with the management and staff of the Ukrainian Legion Recruitment Centre to discuss the process of recruiting Ukrainian citizens living abroad.

During the visit of the Deputy Minister, a particular attention was drawn to the commemoration of UPR soldiers at the Volia Orthodox Cemetery in Warsaw, to the visit to the UNITERS volunteer foundation, and to meetings with Ukrainians at the Warsaw Ukrainian School and the Ukrainian House.
