On August 1, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha met with Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Natalie Tsmitz.
Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude to the Canadian side for its comprehensive support of Ukraine in countering Russian aggression, in particular for the humanitarian, financial and military assistance provided. The parties paid special attention to strengthening security cooperation and military-technical cooperation in the context of the implementation of the Agreement on Security Cooperation between Ukraine and Canada.
The First Deputy Minister emphasized Ukraine's priority needs to strengthen its defense capabilities, as well as the need to improve the security of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which is severely damaged by Russia's massive missile attacks.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the Peace Summit held in June in Switzerland and further steps to implement Canadian initiatives as part of the implementation of President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula.
