On May 27, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine Mr. Gaël Veyssière.
Sergiy Kyslytsya expressed gratitude to the political leadership and people of France for the support of our State, the humanitarian, defense, military, and financial assistance provided in the context of countering the full-scale Russian invasion, as well as the significant contribution of the French side to increasing the defense capabilities of Ukraine.
The First Deputy Minister positively noted the active Ukrainian-French political dialogue at the highest and high levels.
The interlocutors have exchanged views on the development of the situation around the latest initiatives aimed at achieving comprehensive peace. The Parties also discussed the results of the meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation, which took place in Istanbul, and the further dynamics of the peace process.
Against the backdrop of continuous Russian shelling and targeted attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities and villages, special attention during the conversation was paid to the need to significantly increase the international community's sanctions pressure against the aggressor country in order to force it to peace.
