On December 23, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya took part in the opening of the project “Housing Space - Q-tochok 2.0” in the village of Lypova Dolyna, Sumy Oblast, implemented with the assistance of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine.
The event was attended by Deputy Head of the Sumy OBA Volodymyr Babych, UNHCR Representative in Ukraine Bernadette Castel-Hollingsworth, Head of the Lypovodolinsk Village Council Volodymyr Shtank, and Acting Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy and Reconstruction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kira Spirydonova.
The project “Housing Space - Q-tochok 2.0” is a comprehensive solution aimed at long-term accommodation and integration of the most vulnerable internally displaced persons who, for security reasons, cannot return home in the foreseeable future.
Within the framework of this project, 9 modern modular houses have been installed on communal land plots, which are fully equipped with everything necessary for comfortable and dignified living for 50 people. Each house has furniture, household appliances, a kitchen, a bathroom, sleeping areas and an electric heater. The built-in boiler ensures autonomous heating, which is extremely important in the winter period, especially taking into account the risks of power outages.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha personally and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a whole pay special attention to the front-line regions and, in particular, the Sumy region. Thanks to the work of our diplomats, the support of partner countries and international organizations, a significant amount of humanitarian aid has been attracted to the Sumy region this year. International partners have transferred more than 200 generators of various capacities, dozens of units of special equipment, vehicles, fuel and medical equipment.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sets ambitious goals for 2026 and continues active work to attract international assistance for the restoration of frontline regions.
