It was discussed during the meeting of Emine Dzhaparova, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, with Tomaž Mencin, Slovenian Ambassador to Ukraine on October 27.
Emine Dzhaparova extended her special gratitude to Slovenia for its support of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
She informed the Ambassador in detail on the numerous violations by Russia of human rights on the temporarily occupied territory of the Crimea, as well as focused on the militarization of Azov – Black sea region and turning occupied Crimea into the Russian military base. First Deputy Minister also emphasized de facto blockade of the Ukrainian church activities in the Crimea and stressed the importance of the international community’s attention to religious freedoms and suppressions on the occupied peninsula.
The two sides discussed the broad agenda of bilateral cooperation within the international organizations, as well as reiterated mutual readiness to close interaction in the UN and OSCE framework on a wide range of issues of common interest.
Ambassador Mencin underlined, that Ukraine may firmly rely on the Slovenian support during its chairmanship within the EU in the second half of 2021, as well as assured that Ljubljana will continue implementation of measures in support of decentralization program in Ukraine.
The First Deputy head of Ukrainian diplomacy thanked the chief of the Slovenian diplomatic mission for his country’s practical contribution to the rehabilitation of children affected by Russian aggression, as well as for inviting Ukrainian students and young scholars to benefit from the opportunity to study in Slovenia at the expense of the latter’s state budget.
