On October 8, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Ivan Dubois, the Argentine parliamentarian in the Parliament of the Southern Common Market (PARLASUR).
"Our countries share long-standing historical ties and deep mutual sympathies, thanks in particular to the presence of a large Ukrainian community in Argentina," noted the Ukrainian diplomat.
Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized the importance of international support in the fight against Russian aggression and thanked Argentina for President Javier Milei's participation in the First Peace Summit. He also encouraged the Argentine side to actively participate in further international events organized by Ukraine and expressed gratitude for supporting Ukrainian resolutions in international organizations.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects of developing bilateral relations in the political sphere, particularly interparliamentary dialogue. Special attention was also paid to expanding trade and economic cooperation and deepening cultural and humanitarian ties. Yevhen Perebyinis requested continued humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
The two sides confirmed their intention to develop close cooperation to strengthen Ukraine's and Argentina's bilateral relations.
