On June 9, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Audra Plepytė.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current security situation in Ukraine and the Baltic region, as well as the consolidation of international efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace.

Yevhen Perebyinis informed his interlocutor about the current situation on the front and emphasized that a significant part of Russian ballistic strikes are aimed specifically at civilian cities and critical infrastructure facilities of Ukraine.

In this context, the Deputy Minister focused on the importance of further providing military assistance to Ukraine and strengthening the capabilities of our state in countering Russian aggression.

The interlocutors also paid attention to the issues of Ukraine's progress on the path to EU membership. Audra Plepytė highly appreciated Ukraine's progress in implementing reforms despite the extremely difficult conditions of the war and confirmed the unwavering support of Ukraine from the official Vilnius on the European integration track. She emphasized that Lithuania strongly supports the opening of all 6 negotiation clusters for Ukraine as soon as possible.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania confirmed the unchanging position of the Lithuanian government and society on providing Ukraine with long-term military, political and humanitarian support in the fight against Russian armed aggression.
