On February 11, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with the President of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Stephen Capus.

The Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude for the work of Radio Liberty in disseminating truthful information worldwide regarding the crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine.

The parties exchanged views on mass human rights violations by the aggressor state and its satellites, particularly Belarus. Special attention was paid to the facts of illegal detention and arrests of journalists.

Yevhen Perebyinis assured that Ukraine will continue to make every possible effort to secure the release of citizens illegally detained by Russia, specifically journalists.

For his part, Stephen Capus expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for its assistance in the release of Radio Liberty journalist Vladyslav Yesypenko.
