On December 18, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis took part in the stamp cancellation ceremony dedicated to 23-year-old Czech volunteer Karel Kučer, who fought as part of the “Ghosts of Bakhmut” unit and the 3rd battalion of the International Legion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and died in the battle for Bakhmut.
The event was held at the Central Office of JSC “Ukrposhta” with the participation of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Ljuboš Veselý, Co-Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group “Ukraine-Czech Republic” Rostyslav Tistyk, People’s Deputies of Ukraine - members of the Friendship Group, representatives of Ukrposhta, as well as Yuriy Kotyk, a patron and author of the idea.
In his speech, Yevhen Perebyinis noted that today we honor the memory of the hero Karel Kučer, who gave his life not only for Ukraine, but also for the Czech Republic. He emphasized that Karel Kučer was still a young man, but he understood well that Russia posed a threat to all Europe: “If I don’t defeat the Russian troops there, in a few years we will be fighting here, in the Czech Republic.”
“We are indebted to the heroes who gave their lives in the fight against the Russian aggressor, and we must cherish their memory. This stamp is a humble tribute to the memory of Karel Kučer from the Ukrainians,” said the Deputy Minister. He also expressed deep gratitude to the parents of the Czech volunteer, who raised an incredibly courageous son – a hero.
Taking the opportunity, Yevhen Perebyinis once again thanked the Czech people for their solidarity and unwavering support for Ukraine in our fight against Russian aggression.
