07 July 2023 17:24

On July 7, the Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with the leadership of the Warsaw Security Forum (WSF).

The meeting was attended by the Chair of WSF Katarzyna Pisarska, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz, former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Great Britain General Sir Mark Carlton Smith.

The Deputy Foreign Minister informed the interlocutors about the course of preparations for the NATO Summit, which will take place in Vilnius next week, as well as the expectations of the Ukrainian side.

The parties also discussed the current security situation and Ukraine's needs against the backdrop of russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. There was an exchange of views regarding security guarantees for Ukraine and the implementation of the Peace Formula, initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

For their part, the representatives of the WSF expressed complete solidarity and support for the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of our country and emphasized the need for the Alliance to take decisive steps that would bring Ukraine closer to NATO membership.

For reference: WSF is an annual international conference, founded in 2014 by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation. The WSF is a platform for the exchange of views between the high-rank officials of governments, international institutions, industry, think tanks and experts in the field of politics and defence.

This year's forum is organized in close cooperation with the British Government and the Special Committee on Defence of the House of Commons of the British Parliament to once again demonstrate to the world community the continued support of Poland and the Great Britain for Ukraine on its way to the victory against the russian aggressor. A key role during the Forum will be assigned to Ukraine, in particular in the context of its further military support by the international partners and in its aspiration to become a member of the EU and NATO.
