On February 3, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis had a meeting with the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Senator of the French Parliament Joëlle Garriaud-Maylam, Secretary General of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Ruxandra Popa and Director of the Committee on Democracy and Security of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Nathan Robinson Grison.
Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude for NATO PA’s support of Ukraine’s aspirations to accede to the Alliance.
The parties paid particular attention to the importance of implementation of the Peace Formula, initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy with involvement in this process as many countries as possible.
The parties also discussed the importance of strengthening sanctions against the state-aggressor, as well as the creation of a Special Tribunal for the crime of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
The leadership of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, in its turn, stressed the unity of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in its unconditional condemnation of the brutal actions of Russia and in its adamant solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
In the context of preparation for the NATO Summit in Vilnius in July this year, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed hope for the support by the NATO PA of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, in particular, by adopting the relevant resolution of the NATO PA during its regular session in Luxembourg in May this year.
