On September 11, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Kyllike Sillaste-Elling.
Security assistance to Ukraine, increasing pressure on the aggressor, the implementation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy Peace Formula initiative and reforms in Ukraine were among main topics of the meeting.
In particular, Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized that the top priority for our country is to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with everything they need to deter Russian aggression. He expressed gratitude for Estonia's comprehensive support to our state, including the provision of military-technical and humanitarian assistance.
Both sides also discussed the realization of Ukraine's strategic course towards EU and NATO membership. The Deputy Minister, in particular, informed his Estonian counterpart about Ukraine's progress in implementing 7 recommendations of the European Commission and expressed hope for a decision to start pre-accession negotiations by the end of 2023. Yevhen Perebyinis also stressed that another key goal for Ukraine is to receive an invitation to NATO, underscoring Ukraine's reliance on Estonia's continued active support of our state's Euro-Atlantic course.
For her part, Kyllike Sillaste-Elling assured of Estonia's unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and emphasized Tallinn's readiness to strengthen practical assistance to Ukraine and deepen multidimensional cooperation between two countries.
