On 7 June, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held working consultations with Assistant Secretary for Office European Affairs (OEA) of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines Maria Elena Algabre.
The Philippine side noted the historic nature of the first visit of the President of Ukraine to the Philippines on June 03 and welcomed the decision to establish the Embassy of Ukraine in Manila.
Andrii Sybiha expressed his gratitude to the government and people of the Philippines for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and welcomed the decision of the Republic of the Philippines to participate in the Peace Summit in Switzerland.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral partnership and outlined further steps to maintain the positive dynamics of political dialogue, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and mutual simplification of travel procedures for citizens.
Additionally, the interlocutors discussed cooperation within the framework of multilateral cooperation mechanisms. The Philippine side expressed support for Ukraine's intentions to become a sectoral dialogue partner of ASEAN.
The working meeting of the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha was held in furtherance of the agreements reached during the visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Republic of the Philippines.
