Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a good call with my Estonian colleague and friend Margus Tsahkna.
I briefed him on the consequences of Russia’s recent massive attack on Ukraine’s civilians and critical energy infrastructure.
I emphasized that strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, ensuring additional weapons supplies, and robust sanctions are essential to sustain international pressure on Russia and ensure Ukraine’s resilience.
Grateful for Estonia’s support for the recent European Council’s decision to provide €90 billion financial assistance to Ukraine in 2026–2027 as well as for the EU decision to keep frozen Russian assets blocked until Russia ends its war and pays reparations to Ukraine.
We paid special attention to future security guarantees for Ukraine and broader security architecture in Europe.
We agreed on the importance to maintain the dynamics of the peace process and use the current momentum to bring closer a just and lasting peace.
I thank Margus for his personal efforts and principled stance in support of Ukraine and our shared values."
