Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a substantive call with my Portuguese colleague and friend Paulo Rangel.

I briefed him on the consequences of Russia’s attacks and Ukraine’s urgent needs, as Russia deliberately exploits harsh weather conditions to intensify its terror against civilians.

I thanked Portugal for its assistance to Ukraine’s energy sector and support within the PURL initiative. 

We focused on further ways to scale up energy and military support, in particular Ukraine’s air defense, which is critical to protecting civilians and safeguarding critical infrastructure.

We also exchanged views on the battlefield situation, ongoing peace efforts, and the future security architecture for Ukraine and the rest of Europe.
