Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a productive conversation with Portugal’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel. 

Informed my colleague about the situation in Ukraine and Russia’s relentless terror against our cities and ports.

We discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense and energy resilience ahead of winter.

We also spoke about Portugal’s non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council and its upcoming January 2027 Presidency. I am grateful to my colleague for reaffirming that Ukraine will be high on the agenda.

I appreciate Portugal’s continued support for Ukraine’s EU accession. We count on Portugal’s active engagement to advance the opening of the remaining negotiating clusters.

We also discussed the need to maintain strong sanctions pressure on Russia, including through the full use of immobilized Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine".
