Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a substantive conversation with my Spanish counterpart José Manuel Albares. 

We spoke about ways to deter Russia’s efforts to destabilise European democracies through disinformation and acts of sabotage.

I informed my counterpart about Russia’s escalation of terror and our urgent need to strengthen air and ballistic-missile defense. Grateful to Spain for its solidarity and support.

Spain’s political weight in the EU and its role in the international maritime sector are important for strengthening pressure on Russia, protecting civilian shipping, and ensuring the resilience of Ukraine’s exports and global food security.

We also discussed Ukraine’s EU accession, the opening of the remaining negotiating clusters, and further Spanish energy assistance ahead of the coming winter.

We count on Spain’s continued leadership and practical support for Ukraine".
