Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a productive phone call with Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Theresa P. Lazaro and congratulated the Philippines on the successful national launch of its 2026 ASEAN Chairmanship. 

Ukraine welcomes the Philippine Chair’s priorities and stands ready to work together to advance them. We are interested in deepening engagement in a variety of areas, as well as becoming ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner. 

We also spoke about our mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, including in food security, humanitarian efforts, defense, digitalization, and political dialogue. 

We synchronized future contacts between our countries to strengthen our bilateral ties. 

I informed my colleague about Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy system, current battlefield situation, and the dynamic of our peace efforts. 

I thanked the Philippines for its consistent support for our sovereignty and territorial integrity, in particular within the UN. We discussed our cooperation and mutual support within international organizations.  

I also invited my Philippine colleague to visit Kyiv and thanked for her kind invitation to Manila, as well as for Ukraine to take part in this year’s major ASEAN meetings."
