Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I am grateful to Cardinal Matteo Zuppi for a meaningful meeting on a wide range of issues. I conveyed greetings from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and thanked him for all his efforts. 

Ukraine highly values the Cardinal’s mission, which reflects the support of Pope Leo XIV for the Ukrainian people. 

We appreciate his continued efforts to advance humanitarian initiatives, including the return of Ukrainian children, support for their recovery and rehabilitation, as well as the protection of Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians and advocacy for access to detention sites in Russia. 

I also informed the Cardinal about the situation on the battlefield and the Easter ceasefire, which was violated by Russia at least 2,000 times. Ukraine seeks peace and will continue to make every effort to achieve it. 

We coordinated concrete steps to achieve further results in humanitarian efforts."
