Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I was honored to welcome Foreign Minister of Honduras Mireya Agüero de Corrales to Kyiv, as part of the delegation accompanying President Nasry Asfura on his historic visit to Ukraine.
During our meeting, we noted the positive momentum in bilateral relations and signed a Memorandum establishing political consultations between our foreign ministries — an important step toward more regular engagement and deeper cooperation.
I thanked Honduras for its principled support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its consistent stance within the United Nations and other international organizations.
We discussed Russia’s ongoing aggression, the situation on the battlefield, and international efforts to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace. We also explored practical avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in agriculture, digital transformation, and innovative technologies, including drone-related solutions.
I stressed the importance of ensuring accountability for Russian aggression and invited Honduras to join key international initiatives, including the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
Russia’s war has demonstrated that geography does not determine solidarity. Ukraine highly values Honduras’ friendship, support, and commitment to the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law".
