On Tuesday, January 27, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha received Canadian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ukraine Natalka Cmoc.
The parties discussed key issues of the Ukrainian-Canadian partnership, peace efforts, security and energy support for Ukraine as well as joint initiatives on international platforms.
They paid particular attention to the consequences of Russian attacks, additional resources for the protection and restoration of energy infrastructure and the involvement of Canadian companies in relevant projects.
The Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to Canada for its consistent and comprehensive support for Ukraine, in particular for Ottawa's active role in keeping the issue of support for Ukraine high on the agenda of the Group of Seven during Canada's presidency in 2025.
“I am sincerely grateful to Canada for its unwavering solidarity with Ukraine and active participation in projects aimed at strengthening the resilience of our state — from energy to defense and assistance to veterans,” Andrii Sybiha emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed further cooperation and Canada's leading role in the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, preparations for the upcoming Coalition summit in Brussels and initiatives to support Ukrainian veterans.
They focused separately on coordinating actions within international organizations ahead of the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion and further strengthening sanctions pressure on the aggressor state.
