On Thursday, 5 February, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha received Neil Crompton, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Ukraine.
The parties noted the high level of political dialogue between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, which reflects the strength of the strategic partnership enshrined in the Century Partnership Agreement, demonstrating mutual interest in long-term cooperation and strengthening European security.
Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for its consistent political, military, and diplomatic support of Ukraine on the path toward achieving a just and sustainable peace.
The Minister briefed the Ambassador on the critical needs of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure following systematic and targeted Russian attacks, and highly appreciated the United Kingdom’s long-standing support for Ukraine’s energy sector.
"Our strategic partnership with the United Kingdom is unprecedented and reinforced by the Century Partnership Agreement. It shows that we look at cooperation not only through the lens of the present but for decades ahead — in the shared interests of the security of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and all of Europe," Andrii Sybiha said.
The Foreign Minister also highlighted the United Kingdom’s leadership in sanctions policy against Russia, including measures targeting the so-called “shadow fleet”, and discussed next steps to strengthen sanctions pressure on the aggressor state.
In turn, Neil Crompton reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s unwavering support for Ukraine and confirmed London’s readiness to continue providing comprehensive assistance. The Ambassador emphasized the UK’s commitment to supporting Ukraine in countering Russian armed aggression and in achieving a just and sustainable peace.
