On September 26, First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova took part in a reinforced meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.
Emine Dzhaparova expressed her gratitude to the OSCE Chairpersonship of North Macedonia and other OSCE partner countries for supporting Ukraine in defending sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russian aggression.
First Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that by launching a war of aggression against Ukraine, Russia provoked an existential crisis in the OSCE and is attempting to further paralyze the Organization's activities.
"The future of the OSCE cannot depend on the will of the aggressor state, but must be based on our readiness to finally stop the aggressor's abuse of the rule of consensus", Emine Dzhaparova emphasized.
The First Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that people suffering from Russian aggression expect the world community, in particular the OSCE, to fight for fundamental international principles without any compromises.
The OSCE plays an important role in documenting Russia's crimes, including killings of civilians, destruction of critical infrastructure, taking of civilian hostages, persecution and erasing the identity of Crimean Tatars, and deportation of children. The implementation of President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula and the restoration of Ukraine is another area where the OSCE should realize its potential.
Emine Dzhaparova reiterated Ukraine's support for the efforts of the Chairmanship of North Macedonia aimed at restoring respect for the OSCE principles and commitments.
More than 30 foreign ministers and their deputies took part in the meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.
